Fanctl is a great tool, especialy in the lastest version. It would be a great feature that it monitors also the hd temp.
My hd is a seagate 120 go one, and it is not as cold as the original one. I supose that a lot of gentoox users have the same probleme.
Hddtemp is a tool that give the temp of a lot of hard drives. It works fine in gentoox, and for a lot of drives.
If you have the time to do it, i think it would be another good improvement of gentoox.
