For some reason when i boot up not my xfce panel (system tray) is empty and when i try to add a item it says "A crash has occured in the panel... meanwhile it will be restarted blah blah blah"
Am i going to have to unmerge xfce then emerge it again or do i simply need to configure something?

I have a similar problem my panel just randomly crashes with an error then it restarts and crashes and restarts and eventually the whole of XFCE crashes
If you keep an open mind, will your brain fall out?

Can you use XFCE long enough to get to the "To KDE" button? If not, you're going to have to use "magic kde" from the command line.

ok KDE works.
But what should i do to use the better xfce because of less memory usage.
How can i fix it?
I can´t find a manual for xfce4panel.

Read my HOWTO on the forum for how to install IceWM. It's more usable than XFCE and half of the memory usage.

cRAZZ: then your probably going to have to (a) remerge xfce, (b) use icewm
127.0.0.1, wherever you go.. there you are!

Sorry Fuz i saw and edit.
Yes i will try icewm. At this time i use KDE.
I have 128mb RAM so it works quiet fast. But i think also icewm would be better and it looks great.

A new masked build of XFCE4 was released today on portage. You could try emerging the panel from that to see if it solves your problem.
