High resoulutions 1.6 Xbox

Post by chambo622 » Mon Feb 09, 2009 11:10 pm

I can't get anything besides 800*600 with severe overscan on my HDTV. I'm hooked up through Component.

1920*1080 would be nice. But I edited xorg.conf to 720p and it didn't work.

I'm on a 1.6 Xbox. Is it at all possible to get higher resolutions at all with this setup?

Is it possible to use vesa for this?

I cannot post URLs here unfortunately (GRRRRRRR!), but if you got to the xbox-scene forums, and look for topic 418428 it might help you.

Seems to be a fairly good explanation of how linux works with the video hardware. Unfortunately, as you are on a 1.6, you might be SOL.

Sounds like you need to mess around with fbset, without X running.

I found that nothing i did helped however, as i need the xbv tool, and i can't seem to find it...but then i am using Conexant on a 1.2 (which i thought was better supported, but oh well...) so YMMV.
