FTP Installation of MCE

Post by Chinny »

I've tried extracting the contents of mce.iso and then copying them over to my e:/ I got this -

*Apps/
*backup_linux/
BIOS/
*BiosLD/
BOOT/
*CACHE/
*Dashboard/
*Games/
*TDATA/
*UDATA/
XBE/
*XBMC/
DEFAULT.XBE
INITRD.GZ
LINUXBOO.CFG
MCE.TGZ
VMLINUZ

("*" denotes the fact that the directory existed prior to copying the files")

I then add a gentoox item on my dash pointing to e:/default.xbe. The installation screen pops up but then constantly ejects my cd-tray asking for a disk

Also - will this erase the contents of the drive I install it to (In this case F:)? B/C I have a considerable amount (around 240gig) of files on it and I don't want to back them up

you can't do an ftp install of MCE, and yes if you install it it will wipe all of your F drive
If you keep an open mind, will your brain fall out?
