Can't telnet to xbox

A place to ask all newbie questions and not get flamed, though you will get beaten down if you post a newbieish question outside of these walls.

Can't telnet to xbox

I used mechinstaller to install the bare 2mb version of linux, and linux shows up in my xbox now, but I can't telnet to it. I've tried to telnet to 192.168.0.3 and 192.168.1.4 (this is the ip my router gives the xbox), but it says connection refused on telnet. I really want to get linux working, what can i do so that my computer will connect to the xbox?

Is there a telnet server running on your xbox? SSH is different than telnet.

tell you the I dont know, I'm trying to install linux, and I'm trying to follow the instructions at xbox-linux.org to access the linux command line, when I try ssh it says connection timed out.
