Shutdown

I'm totally new. When I try to shutdown I get in the dos like screen and I'm supposed to type login and password. I do not know how. Is it any easier way, like in the windows?

That's odd. Are you using KDE or XFCE?

If you click the "Shutdown" icon... it _should_ go to the "dos-like" screen.. but the LED should also go red, and it will eventually power off. Be patient

Maybe I'm blind, but where is the shutdown icon? I feel like Homer with "anykey"...
