kernel panic no init found off the cd

I don't know what i'm doing wrong but when I boot off the cd or hard drive(I used ftp to send every thing over). I get a kernel panic.

Error -3 While decompressing!

well I deleated the ftp install files from the e drive and now it looks like it's working. the installer is extracting the last few files. one thing I have to say is this installer is a LOT easer then the "installer" (aka bash) for gentoo
