Will 'magic' patches ever be included for simple install

Are there any plans for the magic patches to be all included
in the install??

Also, I dont have a network broadband connection will this be
a proble for 'emerge'??

Emerge mostly just downloads lots of text files. It shouldn't be too much of a problem. Also, you'll have to wait for 3.0d or 3.1 or 4 or whatever for all updates to be applied to home.

This may sound weird, but will installing gentoox on a
regular pc work...or does it expect certain drives, filesystems
or specific hardware?

I was thinking I dont want to install it on my xBox until Im at least a
little bit familiar with Linux, and how the installation process works.

Then why don't you jsut simply install gentoo?
gentoox is just gentoo ported to the xbox..
so goto http://www.gentoo.org and give it a try, but.. id say the best thing for you to do is get familiar with it on the XBOX!

Actually Gentoo isn't very simple to install for a linux noob, it's much easier to install Gentoox on your xbox than to install Gentoo on a pc in my opinion.

Gentoo is very well documented, and by just knowing a little about Linux, it shouldn't be a problem.
