The problem isnt running gentoo..
The problem is getting the tv to display anything..
Like lets take the 2.6.7 kernel as an example, the xbox-linux drivers applied to it, you can't compile the focus or conexant drivers so you have to do without..
When it boots, the screen is never refreshed from the cromwell *Starting Linux...*
It just stays there even though everything is running, you could eg. ssh into it!
Well now, if you have flashed lets tay GentooX Loader or Cromwell 2.30 / .31 then it should load and all, but you will not get any graphical interface on the tv since the xcalibur chip isnt supported..
Now in 1.6 there are allso other new hardware, i think.. so there might be problems booting up..
Only thing you can do is TRY
