installation

Post by jakin »

I can not find linux.

I installed home 3 followed the install questions . and I had to leave the building, so I did not see the installation.

When I returned I removed the install disk and rebooted and I can not find linux on the xbox.

I used slayers 2.5 installer abd the gentoo is in red .

I installed in "E" and I see "rootfs" 1.18 GB -rw-r--r--"

When I first installed the disk I think it flashed my chameleon 1.3 and the tray opened. the screen display was the gentoo linux asking for the disk.

the icon on the right was selected and disk inserted.

the install started. I chose "E", controller (not keyboard). never did see a question about the bios size. We watched as the installation progressed until we left.

120 gig hdd

C: 363.937.792,
E:3.718.302.258,
F: 77.119.045.632,
G: zero.

Is there a way to install to G:?

What went wrong? Or what am I supposed to see on the xbox HDD?

Thank you................................

I suggest u to modify ur XBOX and next install EVOX interface that now support G: partition.
Genttox don't use a lot of disk space so I suggest u to use the E: partition option and so will launch Linux directly from EVOX and u don't need to FLASH ur BIOS.
NOTE: take care because during the installation screen disappear if u don't move joypad but when u will move your joypad u will see video again......also check the LED status to have a installtion feedback.
When u will see that LED will Blink GREEN-OFF its time to rebbot.
To launch Linux there will be so 3 ways:
1. BOOT from STARTDUST
2. IF U FLASH BIOS Stardust boot its showed at boot.
3. If u has EVOX just add a link to e:\gentoox.xbe
