well i've got my box up and running all sweet, apache, mysql, ftp, ddclient oooo i'm so happy, just ordered some xbox to female usb adaptors from lik-sang and was wondering is is possible to get a webcam up and running on the xbox, if so is there a decent gentoo package avaiable to use the cam?

Yes it's certainly possible. Here's how to list a few webcam ebuilds found in Porage; emerge -S webcam &/or emerge -s qce-ga. Admittedly I've never used any of them, so I can't say that they're decent ;) You'll need VideoForLinux (VFL) enabled in your kernel, or compiled as modules. I believe Shallax has included them in the default kernel.

excellent!! :-) now i just have to wait for these usb adaptors to arrive...

when they get here i'll let you know how i get on and what the best packages are.
