flashing xbox light

wow, what can i say gentoox is awesome! i might as well say bye bye to my cobalt raq3 server :-)

quick question though, the xbox power light is always flashing green, now is is possible to change this so it reflects hardisk access, i.e. only flashes when hardisk is used, or constant green and flashes when disk is used?

i only ask as it would let me know when the box is busy

You can make it into an HDD monitor.. but it requires a hardware mod. I believe you need to splice into wire 39 of the IDE connector, and connect this to the positive terminal of the led, then the other terminal to negative.

You can change flash patterns by running "blink".

thought you might say that :-( i've opened some of my xbox's but i was trying to leave this one in a virgin state.

oh well, i played with blink and made the light a constant green, that will have to do.
