I've been playing with GentooX over the past few days... One function that I would like that I haven't been able to get to work yet is flashing my Xecutor Lite 2.0 BIOS via Raincoat. When I run raincoat, I get a message saying:
You have got to disable write protect on your chip. Also make sure the chip is selected in the correct bank and make sure the bios is 512kb. As it's an Xecutor 2.0 with no switches try adding your own switches by going to http://www.xbox-scene.com and clicking on the tutorials sections. Also run magic to get an up to date version of raincoat if your running an old version of gentoox.
What's odd is last night after posting this, I was able to get raincoat to recognize the chip, and say that it was an AMD-based BIOS. However, I was unable to flash it, evein with the Flash Protect jumper removed (or so I thought...)
Thanks for the info... I'll check into the tutorials....
Xbox XBox # raincoat -p bios.bin
Raincoat v0.5 Gentoox Edition - http://gentoox.shallax.com - v1.2 support
Reading /etc/raincoat.conf... 11 flash types read
DETECTED: AMD - Am29F080B (1024K)
Programming with bios.bin...Read 524288 bytes from file

ERASE ERROR AT +0x0...read 0x09

Could your chip be write-protected?
Completed
I've verified that the flash write-protect jumper is removed from the modchip (this was done before I powered on the XBox). Any other suggestions? I've tried flashing with both a 512k and a 1024k image.
Well I think you should recheck your TSOP solder points if your trying to flash the tsop. Though I'm at college atm and almost a sleep on the keyboard. Maybe raincoat is looking at your TSOP rather than your chip. Did you read the tutorial on using raincoat on shallaxs site. There's one there.
