ok, got quake1 to work today in x11
emerge quake
boot to kdm and load an xsession only and then load quake.x11
the only downside is i dont know the fullscreen flag so its in a window
but it runs

why a script ?
Why using a script ?
I'm not sure but there is no 3d hardware acceleration under xbox-linux, so opengl is software emulated and direct3d games would probably run very ugly. That's why I think wine (and not winex) is enough
I installed the last official version of wine (not CVS) and it seems to work fine. I hope I will be able to use a windows dvd-burning software.
