can i install from "e"

i thought i read somewhere that i could ftp from computer to xbox "e"drive and install using a command.


for example say i had "program-1.1.1.tar.gz" and i ftp'd it to the xbox "e" drive is there a command that i can use to install it into gentoox?

pretty much all programs can be installed using emerge if they can't then there is usually an alternative that can be. Check http://packages.gentoo.org or http://gentoo-portage.com and search for the package you want
