Hello,
Is it possible to use Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T USB2 digital receiver in X-box with Gentoox Media Center? Is there working drivers for this equipment and is the X-Box CPU powerfull enough. And does the X-Box even have USB2.0 ports which are required for Hauppauge to function?
Sorry if my questions sounds silly, but I'm a newbie with Linux (and X-Box).
I thought that if USB digital receivers would work in X-Box with Gentoox Media Center, it would make an awesome alternative to HTPC.
Hauppauge WinTV Novat-T USB2 and X-Box with Gentoox
Well, I have made some research on this subject now.
It seems that X-Box supports only USB1.1 transfer speed and Nova-T USB2 is actually USB2.0, but it can also be driven on a USB1.1. But it probably can't deliver the complete Transport Stream to the software demuxer with USB1.1 speed. Is that bad, don't know exactly...
I also found out that Nova-T USB2 should work fine in Linux.
This opens interesting possibilities to explore (if I had a X-Box, that is)...
Some links I found and might be helpfull if someone else is interestred about this subject:
