FTP with MCE

I'm using a crossover cable from the xbox to my computer but I can't connect to it. I read the tutorial and it says when there is no router it defaults to
IP: 192.168.1.13
Broadcast: 192.168.1.255
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
I set my ip as 192.168.0.9, Gateway to 192.168.1.1 and I tried to connect to 192.168.1.13 which is what it said my xbox ip was when it started up. Any ideas why this isn't working?

Your problem is here 192.168.0.9(invalid with a gateway of x.x.1.x) when it should be 192.168.1.9
