Damn, I've just seen the ext3 news! :(

Is that just for the home version ShALLax? or pro as well?

Space can't be a problem with the pro version!? can it?

I'll look into moving everything to Ext3. This will, unfortunately, obsolete all current versions of Gentoox. You are gentleman and a scholar :wink: thx. Meh. That would mean I'd have to change a hell of a lot of scripts, including sparkle... Now you know as well as I do, you wouldn't need Sparkle anymore with ext3 :lol: :wink: Perhaps the changes could be preparing for xfs and others, so they would be easy to incorporate later on .. Yep, another brainfart... I was checking to see if /dev/hda2 existed by checking to see if its a regular file... which it isnt! Gimme a while to fix+upload! Ran sparkle today, but iit told me:

Found 0 filesystems.
Fixed 0 filesystems.

& no it didn't work .... any idea's pls.

gentoox pro 1.1, native f drive install.

I use Gentoo (PC), and, trust me, the installation (from stage 2) is totally different.

I can totally recommend gentoo! It is more involved distro though. Shallax has done a hell of a lot of work with the home edition of gentoox. Perhaps have a try with gentoox pro, as it is more like gentoo, with some xbox tweaks. gentoo.org has a great community, THE most helpful out there, IMHO. So ...

Ok, followed this, everything looked fine.

Modified the initrd, gzipped and booted.

Xbox complains there is no initrd!?

damn so close, but no joy! yet :)
