Get well soon, search on ebay for a cheap G3 (be carefull though some to good to be true deals on apple's). Though it would be slow.

This is down to personal preference, if Shallax put VI in everybody would be saying make this default make that software default.

Everytime I've used VI it's confused me, NANO does the trick .

It's based on Cromwell, I think http://www.xbox-linux.org has the source code, though I think shallax is going to release the source when it's ready.

Check your soldering, make sure molex connector is firmly pluged into xbox hard drive.

make sure you are using the latest evox version which is Evox 3935. You could also check out Phoenix Bios Loader to load a BFM version of X2 4983.06 after your X1 loads.

Burn at low speed on to CDRW, could also be a corupt download try a different sf mirror.

No I think this has been coverd before in a thread in general chat (search for it) you can just change your keyboard layout config (Xfree86?) or somthing like that and will also change language though I aint sure.

The same as you do with home, extract stardust.iso (winrar) then distro.rar and FTP it all to E and run Loader (BIOS or XBE).

You have to add somthing in the config, theres a good thread somewere search for it I can't remember what config file but you got to add somet like pwc then reload camsource. My webcam works just installed gentoox 3.1 will set it up soon ill let you know mate.
