Re: Web- and Net-Boot Problems
Web-boot connects to an HTTP server, net-boot runs an FTP server directly on your xbox (you can access it via http://ip.address.for.xbox/)

Re: initialised discs - now won't boot
If you have a modchip, you'll need to flash it with Gentoox Loader. If you were using a softmod, your Xbox is a brick until you get a modchip.

Re: Harddrive full - no access!
Hey you do visit your forums! Can you spare some time to answer my xbox specific questions? Such as: 1. What .config do you use to compile the kernel? (I need to compile extra modules for stuff like nfs) 2. Where has the xbv tool (used to set xbox video encoder chip on the fly) gone? (I got it from...

Get them to try running sparkle to clean the filesystem. If this doesn't work, try booting resctoox and sshing into it.

The job is pretty great at the moment! I'm off to Barcelona for Microsoft Tech Ed thanks to my company
Life is also pretty great, I'm finally saving money instead of spending it all on Xboxes

Re: Can't flash back evox onto my chip!!
You can only boot Linux with Gentoox loader. You'll have to use Raincoat (a Linux based BIOS flashing tool) or Gentoox Loader to reflash your BIOS.

I don't think the installers cater for this. You can do it manually, but it'll mean editing the initrd by hand.

That image has been up for ages and I've downloaded it a few times myself - it's always worked for me!

Hi there!
I'm pretty much with you now. I use OSX (I have an iMac, 2 Mac Minis and I've just ordered a MacBook Air) for my "desktop" OS... but for servers, I'll always use Linux (still Gentoo at the moment).
