After reading a couple of posts by oz_paulb (the first guy to break the 137gb barrier) I found out that the F drive appears empty b/c the partition table is incorrect. Therefore, if you can restore the partition table to exactly what it was before you installed MCE - you SHOULD be able to see your F...

Okay, that's good - since your drive is 250 I know you were getting corruption due to writing over the 250 limit. Were you able to see your files through evox? Also - I tried to repartition through linux (so that I could mount and see the files) but it was a no go - still see trash when I list the p...

Yeah- I've googled and tried working with someone else to try to get it working through the forums over at Gentoo. As to MSI (the company) I doubt they'd write the drivers, but I could give it a shot. I'm thinking that the product isn't very high up on their support list

Got back today and did a little bit of work on getting everything back to working condition. I was thinking that perhaps the garbage on hda55 was b/c of the fact that MCE didn't support LBA48, so I installed Home - Big mistake. Even though I changed the starting sectors for the install, I didn't rem...

Thank God I'm not alone.

I'm going to be out of town and away from my xbox until Friday Afternoon. So I won't be able to debug. But as soon as I get back I'm going to try to crack this nut

I may have been hasty by saying that the drive was formatted. I'll post back once I know for sure.

what I do know is that the space that I partitioned for drive G through xbpartitioner was fdisk'd, etc. But my old xbpartitioner table has been erased

bump anyone? Everything's a little strange on my F Drive. I mounted hda55 on /mnt/fatx/f but when I listed the partition everything came up as ASCII. So I jumped into fdisk and listed all the partitions. Everything is exactly where it should be - all of the partitions start where I wanted them to - ...

No way to drop to a terminal locally huh? I'd like to setup a friends xbox to be his only computer at school. Running MCE would be ideal b/c of the fact that it's native

Bummer. Were you testing through an xbox? I'm almost tempted to buy a haupauge just to test.

Should I repost? Or did you move it (and the other post) already? I like to post in the newb forums so no one flames.

Did the module probe at all? Or were the drivers useless? I think the guy who's been working on the haupauge drivers updated them recently.

Getting a tv card up and running is my primary reason for loading gentoox onto my xbox. I'd be willing to loan my MSI Vox USB2.0 tuner to you (Shallax) if you think you could get drivers working.

Interesting info here. When you install MCE and gentoox you are basically installing a native gentoo install (mce) and a loopback gentoo install (gentoox). So, other than magic, is there any perk installing gentoox after mce? I'd rather not use a loopback install of gentoo on the xbox, it's painfull...
