Myth has a program guide that looks very similar to the direct tv type. You can view the data on the xbox, as it's actually in a MySQL db on the backend. You can schedule recordings from the xbox, and the backend server does it. Techically, you could have a headless server running, and not even have...

Because Myth will download TV guide data, shedule recordings, pause live tv, plus all the things that XBMC does. As far as I know, there's no live tv support in XBMC is there?

Ahh. MythTV has a separation of the viewer from the recorder. My tuner is in my office across the house in a 2300+ 1GB RAM system. In it sits an old $50 Hauppage WinTV PCI card. That machine does all the hard work, encoding, recording, etc. The xbox is simply a viewer - connecting via the network to...

Almost have my PVR - just need digital optical audio....

I have mythfrontend running as beautifully as it can be over svideo into my TV. I have the Advanced AV pack, and I'm utilizing the digital optical audio out. I can't seem to get any playback to go over the optical cable. I've scoured the net for the last few hours, and I've seen lots of references t...

CDRDAO is looking for the ide-scsi emulation. The easy way to find your drive is by doing a "cdrecord scanbus". That being said, ide-scsi emulation isn't being loaded from the linuxboot.cfg file, and I don't know if it's being compiled into the kernel. I haven't used cdrdao lately, but I k...

Thats a known bug (orange led and increased fan speed). It's caused by cromwell, sometimes it boots, sometimes it doesnt. Just keep trying over and over. This only affects Focus boxes. Any ideas why it started now? I installed Gentoox sunday night, and never had the issue until the upgrade last nig...

Latest kernel problem: Focus + Advanced AV Pack

Hi all, I bought the Advanced AV pack for my Xbox as the audio side of my home theater is done, but I still have a POS 27" TV. So I have optical audio out going to my receiver, and SVideo going to my TV. The announcement on the gentoox website last night came 5 beers into my six pack, so I figu...

Great news!

Way off topic: maybe I should move to Texas - payrolls must kick ass down there! 55" HDTV and a Cisco AP? Beats the hell out of my POS 27" and my Orinoco AP :-D (j/k)

This is what I use... 30' range and the mouse is "Gyro" so it works real well without having to use a flat dektop area. I can kick back in my chair and surf the web on my 55". Just waiting for HDTV support now. *EDIT* I guess it would help if I posted the link... http://www.gyration....

Wireless Kbd & Mouse Combo?

Hi all, Long time Gentoo user, first time Xbox hacker. I am looking into getting a wireless keyboard and mouse for my Xbox setup. I have searched the forums and seen references to the Logitech MX Duo, but alas, it only has good range from 5-8 feet. I'm needing from 8-15 feet distance. As far as I kn...
