Upgrading to kernel 2.6 would be done at your own risk. ShALLaX did add 2.6 as a patch, but there were a couple problems with it (mostly with fatx I believe) and he reverted back to 2.4. If you did upgrade it, you'd have to do it yourself and if you're asking "how do I upgrade it" then I'...

I replaced

if [ -f /usr/bin/gdm ]; then
/usr/bin/gdm 1> /dev/null 2> /dev/null


with startxfce4 instead of startx and it works.. thanks alot guys..

Is there anyway to apply fonts settings automatically without having to right click then User Interface everytime I login. Everytime I reboot the fonts won't set at 14. It uses default 10 fonts.

get the x2vga. i have had 2 lcd monitors/tv's with av inputs and both have terrible quality when you use the av inputs, it's grainy and far worse than tv quality, and tying to view gentoox on them was impossible. No sound after running magc =(

I got this error after running magic.

Sound server informational message
Error while intializing the sound driver
device/dev/dsp can't be opened (no such file or directory)
The sound server will continute, using the null output device.

Can someone help please??
