great post, this saved my setup!!!!
using xvattr to set double buffer to 0 made things very responsive again.

fstab

i have done a pro install of gentoox onto my e drive but after an etc-update my fstab has been overwritten....

could someone please post what it should look like so that i dont have to redo my hours of compiling?
