I was wondering if certain boot files are editing when you have a f: install.

I was thinking if only the swap and root are on f:, then somthing must be pointing them to F:

can i somehow download the edited file and use it to manually install to f: on my 160 gig drive ?

yes I agree. I think it would help Gentoox. I would think many have larger hd's. when i bought mine i was looking into getting the largest I could afford.

yes, I would like to learn more about this as well. I will be trying to run Half-Life on Gentoox through wine, so i would love to learn to disable all of the services that i would not need. I'm going to google these services.

i dunno what you did, but i would just start over from scratch.

Ok so I ran magic on a my gentoox, i believe this is the first time on this install. it forces a emerge sync, ok thats fine its the frist one. it updates portage, and then it starts with the kernal. its updating the kernal to i believe 2.4.2.2 but it fails, i forget the error message, it was quite v...

emerge wine does not work, says it cannot find the file.

i guess I will download it from winehq.com

which distro do I choose ?
