Currently, Gentoox only supports 640x480 on 1.6 (Xcalibur video encoders) Xboxes. If you have a HDTV and the HDTV pack, then you can enable 480p, but I think you'll need to change your video region from PAL to NTSC.

Hello!

Very good to know...
I also am running gentoox on my xbox and I search for solutions for my problem for days.

Seems that I also have xbox 1.6, as xbvset tells me, zhat i use the xcalibur video encoders...

Question:
Will it soon be possible to drive a higher resolution? Or is there another distribution, how can do this on 1.6boxes already?

Thanks!

AFAIK, you're limited to 640x480 with 1.6's.

I wish people would read the manual.

what should this say to me?
I read the manal, where i find the following info:

"currently, Xcalibur chipset only basic with 640x480..."

but this does not tell me, if there is more in developpment or how difficult it is, to make higher resolutions work..

thanks anyway.
