Hwo do you disable XBV?

I want it disabled. I think it's xbv that kill my video signal. It showes for 3 seconds then I my monitor go in to power saving.
I'm using my home made VGA cable with sync seporator.

Is there a easy way to set up your xfree config file?
I just want a 1024x768 res with maybe 85hz.

And how do you get the specs of your monitor? So you can use those x timings generators?

Im not sure the xbox is capable of such refresh rates. XBV is now deprecated, if you run magic, it is deleted. Then run xbvset.
