why use a linux bios?

Post by razorrifh »

if linux can run without a linux type bios, why would you replace a bios to a linux bios? i'm just curious. or is it mainly for debuging for linux programmers or something ?

also, when i use the xromwell/cromwell bios, it looks the same as using the gentoox.xbe. is the xbe like a bios loader or something? or does it just use the same pic and provide the same options?

The x/cromwell BIOSes are legal. The others are based on cracked MS code.

If you want a linux only machine the cromwell bios is the best way to go as it automatically boots linux. The .xbe is just the cromwell bios in an xbox boot loader (xromwell)
