no sound what so ever.
have magic fix alsa then magic to no avail....
It is really odd because nothing even comes up when I choose Sound under setting in XFCE
v1.4 box

well I found a workaround by using the composite audio
but would love to know if there is a way to use the optical

ALSA is no longer in magic so that won't work.

I'd ignore that post (its mostly old information that led to me fixing it properly). Long story short, run magic.. then run "emerge alsa-driver-xbox". That should have you fixed.

hmm... I saw that you said you made a patch but I didn't see it in the patch list so I assumed that it still wasn't up.
If that post is outdated you might want to de-stickey it or add an update to the end of it.
