ReiserFS on external USB

Post by cyesergio »

Just wondering...is it possible to format and partion an external USB drive to ReiserFS (thus bypassing fatx limitations). I want to use the drive to store large downloads (torrent, usenet etc.) and share the drive with XP machines thru samba.
This way I don't have to go through all the trouble of converting my current E install to native, just for longer filenames.

Is this all possible?

ps: what are the commands to format and partition a disk?

These are covered in the Native tutorial, amongst others......
Go fully native, it's the destiny of all Mk1 XboxesImage
The needs of the many out way the needs of the few or the one ...

Ok...
But the rest of my question? That last bit was more of a (lazy) afterthought
Is it possible to do what I proposed?
