changing res

Post by Hso »

Hey guys/gals :P

I recently ftp-installed Gentoox Home(latest) on my 1.6 xbox.. as far as I can tell, it works fine.. however.. the resolution is horrifying..
I'm using a normal 15" CRT PAL tv..
on the standard res, most of the corners are out of sight and the half of both panels are out of sight..

is there a way to edit it? I tried using the Display settings, but changing that to a lower resolution doesn't help me.. it just makes it worse! it just shrinks the screen and chuks what's left into the top-left corner of the tv :(

I tried editing that linuxboot.cfg .. i changed the res in there from 640x480 to 600x500(that is the perfect res for Linksboks.. I can see all sides and corners at that res..
unfortunately, editing that file did nothing at all.. no idea why ~_~

does anyone have some helpful suggestions?
thanks!
