I have connected my wireless USB to a modded controller port

everytime i try to "depmod -a" or "modprobe ndiswrapper" i get a unresolved symbol error in ndiswrapper.o
anyone with similar error and perhaps a fix for this?
things I have done so far
1. recompiled kernel to turn on wireless and all sub options
2. emerge sync and portage
3. magic
4. emerge wireless-tools
5. emerge ndiswrapper (no work)
6. try all ndiswrapper versions 0.1 to 1.13
7. try lates CVS ndiswrapper version
8. try dldrconfig from some other site and keeps crashing xbox
any help is appreciated
forgot to add that i have searched the net and this forum as well as trying to reinstall gentoox

Ndiswrapper's own website says it uses the Prism GT chipset
googling found this page

although i did not initially find this website, it unfortunately gives me another dead end,
my card seems to be a "newer" prism54 version and thus support for it is lagging behind. even in the case of the older USB prism54 chips, the code only apparantly works for non wep and wpa acess points
also the requirement of the upgrading of the firmware will render my device U/S in normal windows enviroments
thank you for your help but i think i will need another solution but will continue to monitor the new website for updates
