Date and time in bios

Post by vapid »

I was wondering if anyone can help me fix my issue with the Date and time being reset constantly within my X3 chip and my installation of Gentoox Pro. Seems like when I power off the xbox and turn it back on it looses the date and time settings I changed it to.

check for an updated bios for your x3, flash loader.bin on your bios instead, or setup an ntp server to update the time for you automatically

Not quite sure what problem you're having... Is the xbox system time reseting or linux time? How are you setting your Linux date/time?
Try command "date MMDDhhmmYyyy" as in February 11, 2005 2:40 "date 021102402006"

I've noticed this in the past as well, but I don't have a mod chip installed. I'm not sure if it was associated with rebooting the box or not (Mine's been up for 103 days and the time is still fine) but I do remember it all of the sudden resetting the time several times in the past.

NTP-howto

Post by NoR »

Hi
I'm new to Gentoox.
My Xbox is now running as fileserver and does parental control for my
children (squid and dansguardian). :D :D

But on every reboot the clock isn't set right.

The gentoo-wiki.org site doesn't work. Is there another location for a
NTP-howto? :?:

Greets...
