Hi,
I had MediaCenter 1.0 installed on a 1.4 Xbox, which was first
HW-modified and flashed with Cromwell directly after its purchase .)
The Media Center did rewrite Cromwell with its own Bios,
therefore after the flashing process it was impossible to boot Dyne:bolic,
or other distros, even GentooX Home: only GentooX MediaCenter (MC).
It was not really the problem, but i needed some change in my life
(and also, wanted to have a clear image on the LCD using internal sync.)
.., so decided to install the latest (v.1.2) MediaCenter.
The first part of the install went ok, but after formatting the HD is said:
"can not remount drive E" .. (or sthng like this)
You can imagine ..I've tried it again and again: with another CD burned with
MediaCenter ver1.2 on it, with different HDs (60GB and 20GB), but the same error.
The main problem is, that the bios is still the MC 1.0
version, and it lets only boot MediaCenter CDs, nothing
else. And of course, MediaCenter fails to boot after doing the formatting.
Well, now I got to the point, where I'd need your help
with a step-by-step descrition on how to rescue the wholoe thing.
I have the rescue CD downloaded, maybe it can help,
but i don't know how do i get there another bios,
which would let me install GentooX HOME
(or anything else, which does not hang after Formattin the drive).
