gentoox boots from disk but not from evox

I just installed gentoox using the ftp install. The only way i am able to boot it is if i pop in the resctoox cd and use the loader built into it, and boot the fatx install. If i try running loader.xbe installed on the hd from evox, the screen goes blank, the fan spins up, and the led flashes orange.

I have the newest loader and gentoox files, along with a new build of evox. All igr options are turned off.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

Clean up the install that you have and start from scratch.

resctoox is the rescue disk and I would think that would boot for all reasons.

I've gone in with ftp and deleted and replaced the basic files on the partition only to get the same problem. The loader on the cd is booting the fatx install.

Hi,

You say it has flashing orange. what if you wait a while. Like 5 minutes. Does it still blink orange. Try to unplug all controllers and then try again.

its an xbox 1.1 or 1.2, ive had it for over year and a half (and bought a referb).

I'm using pro 1.5 and have run magic through the cd.

Hi,

Is there any reason why you are doing a ftp install instead of a regular cd install. Why not just burn gentoox pro into a cd and put it in and let it do its work...

its got to be a problem with evox, im not sure what though. When i use the cd through evox, i get the same exact error. When i boot the disk on startup of the xbox it works fine. This is after i installed it again thorugh the cd instead.

what are the files you have on E and what are the sizes. I dont have Prov1.5 but the size for these 3 files are..

all the sizes are diff, but that doesnt matter b/c the disk is booting from them not the disk itself.
