Halts after "Starting Stardust"... everytime.

DVD-Rom: Thomas
Media used: DVD+R Dynex
Dashboard: Evo-X 3935 (with disabled IGR)
GentooX version: Home 3.2
Basically I pop the disc in, it boots with no problems until it reaches:
"Starting Stardust".
Then halts. Sometimes the message "Starting Stardust" will clear before it halts, and my XBox LED will stay solid red. The manual says this occurrence happens 'sometimes', but it has been happening everytime for me (about 15 times). Any ideas?
