I can't believe the author of that put a plug for emacs in. I think my sig says it all.

Seems like fuz watches futurama.. judging by his sig ;)

I agree, Trog's sig is ambiguous.. emacs is actually pretty damned good, but I prefer using nano.

I hate emacs. Basically, my sig is saying that emacs sucks as an editor, but has so many useless features that it could be compared to an OS.

I work as a programmer, and I use emacs 95% of the time. It just rocks.

I understand where trog is comming from, first time I read his sig i couldn't help but laugh. sure emacs is pretty good, but its the biggest editor i've ever installed. it would be the equiv. of a swiss army knife of software.

i like vim :)

Some useless/bloated features of emacs (or Xemacs):
-web browser
-file manager
-debugger
-analyist

Another reason I don't like it: the fact that it has profiles, making emacs on one person's machine totally different from emacs on another's.

I'm not saying that the above features are totally useless, just that they shouldn't be in an editor. In my opinion.

It says, "choose a red hat, not a rain coat," but isn't Rain Coat something that has to do with Xbox Linux? I don't remember what it is.
