I did a full-clean reinstall of Pro 4.1, and added some more stats to mrtg.

http://mamori.ath.cx/info/ most uptime ever was 132 days, if my memory servers me, i used to do too much tweaking to get any higher.

runs:
vsftpd
mysql
php5
apache (used to run lighttpd)
dns
dhcp
firewall
encrypted filesystems (can't be too paranoid, right?)

everything i need :). although due to memory restrictions I'm thinking of replacing it with my old athlon xp computer.

My webhost in America is down so my spare 1.6 xbox (that I never use) came to the rescue (I use my 1.1 box for gaming).

I do have phpsysinfo but it is fooking with my box (errors out at the top and even locked up Linux last night).

Shallax is it safe for me to run my server at 20% fan speed 24/7 since it is in my walkin wardrobe? I can keep the door open in the day but I don't want it to keep me awake at night.

I'm not going to make any guarantees on how safe it is... all I know is I ran mine with fanctl running on defaults and it stayed mostly at 20-40%

I put a vantec stealth fan in mine (less airflow, but much much quieter) and it runs silent enough to sleep beside and stayed around 40 degrees as long as it wasn't heavily doing something. I recently stuck it inside an armoire with basically 0 ventilation =) and it's running at 46 degrees now.

Gonna stick a few holes in the back of the armoire and cool it off, but the gist of it is that I'm sure you'll do fairly well in a walkin closet with a stock fan if I can do ok stuck in an armoire with a reduced-airflow one.

The other option is to not limit the speed, but stick in a silent fan like I did. Even at 100% it's as quiet as the stock one is at lowest speed, if that.
