Hey,

I have a 1.0 xbox with a 55" mitsu widescreen hdtv with hd cables from monster.

I have just tried the 480p setting and i see the initial scrolling screen in crystel clear quality but when it goes to the xfce desktop it is unalbe to view. Kind of like the problems everyone else has before then run xbvset.
Unfortunately, after rerunning xbvset 3 times it still does not work. I am not trying the 720p setting. Ill keep you up to date.

i would comment out the
xbvinit line in
/etc/conf.d/local.start

to see if that helps.

No, with HDTV settings, xbvinit is redundant (i.e. its empty). The problem sounds like its with the Xfree video mode settings. Do me a favour, try the X2VGA setting in xbvset, select 480p, then 1024x768 and tell me if that works.

Well, I did give it a shot and no luck. I could not get any output on my TV but was able to VNC into gentoox.

I have tried just about every setting but the original TV settings (since im assuming nothing has changed there) with no luck.

Let me know of any new developments.

mv "/etc/XF86Config-720p /etc/X11/XF86Config"

works for about 8 seconds.

Just a quick update. I stated earlier that I didnt try the TV settings because I thought nothing has changed. After being unsuccessful with HDTV I tried to go back to the TV settings and I can no longer do so.

I dont even see the initial scrolling screen with the device check. Nothing happens.

Sorry for the bad news Shallax. I know you worked very hard on this. Ill keep my eyes open

Does someone know how to fix the missing xbvset script. Im pretty sure, i have the wrong one. No HDTV at all! Is there a "magic fix ???" or something for that problem?

"magic fix displaytools1 && magic".

Shallax, on the positive note.

My 1.1 works in HDTV 720p, not in 480p. In 480p mode, some lines mess up the pictures.

With the X2VGA settings, 480p however works. But then again not with 1024x768.

BTW the next problem to tackle, if we solve this issues are ... mplayer ...

Mplayer complains about resource issues when using the xv output. The x11 output works, but slowly.

Keep up the good work ...

I had a feeling that the hdtv 480p mode wouldnt work, but.... x2vga+480p+1024x768 works PERFECTLY over here.

Ever tried mplayer -vo xv ....avi

... X11 ... resource error ....
... flip_page error ...
