I guess it's not possibile...

I have a 120 GB harddisk..is it possibile to install gentoox on F drive on a defined partition size..like say on 80 GB i have gentoox..?

Does any of the linux versions for xbox support this?

The pblm is I am using the xbox also as a fileserver but i can't use long filenames on fatx.

aany solutions?

why don't you want gentoox on the whole 112GB?

The problem is not with gentoox. It is possible to make the gentoox native partition any size you like. However the xbox will only support the default partition sizes as these are defined in the bios.

if i make the whole F native....would i be able to access it on Evox...?

no if you want to be able to use some of your F drive for xbox (games videos etc.) you have to leave it as fatx so that leaves you two options

Hack your bios partition table so that it lets you have a smaller F drive

Use loopback filesystems on F for gentoox, you can have as many of these as you like. Each one can only be a maximum of 4GB and will consume valuable system resources when mounted.
