Is there a memory checker that I can run under Gentoox

Post by XBoxgeek »

Hi Guys,

Just upgraded my xbox ram to 128mb and everything looks good  . The Gentoox boot screen reports 128mb as does phpsysinfo. What I would like to do though is run an app under Gentoox that tests all the ram and maybe do a "bit walk" through the memory.

Is there such a thing out there?

Cheers

Try to emerge memtest86. Dunno if it works, I don't have GentooX installed yet. (See my thread  )

Yep I use memtest86 on my pc. The only thing is you have to boot it rather than running it as an app and I am not sure how to do that under gentoox. The read-me says edit lilo so it can boot, but obviously I can't do that.

Is there away to do it under Gentoox or is there anything else that does run as an app?

Glad you like my box. It took me forever to do & was a complete waste of time .
