gentoox.xbe reporting hardrive has no mbr?

Shallax mentioned I should format E and then install, and that did the trick.

You may want to give that a try pedxing.

how does urs have an mbr? did you do a native install. when i tried a native install it made mine have an mbr and it showed up as one in gentoox xromwell...

Try to boot th hard drive on your computer with a boot disk (dos)
and make a fdisk /mrb
you keep the data it's just fix the mbr
that's working for me



but i still have only the cdrom drive icon and not the hard drive :(

... sorry to come back into this conversation at the tail end but i am standing on the side of the fence with the massively skilled bloke... how can you hav an MBR? either you are awfully 31337 or im a monkeys uncle

If you do a native install you have an MBR because you create two standard partitions (hda1 and hda2) in the space normally occupied by hda55
