Partitions and boot from usb questions

Hey,
First question, i have a modcip but only a stadard HD atm. I want to do a native install but would be able to without killing off e, i want to know if i could resize E and give more space to F then native install to F.
Second, an even better solution would be the abbility to boot from a usb drive ;- ) would this be at all possible.
I have tried searching bit it always comes up with the same posts that have undiscriptive names or are 100 pages long
also have you cut off some keywords from search?
