Proftpd problems

I am trying to the proftpd config in this /etc/proftpd/ but after i edit it it wont let me transfer it to it. Any suggestions?

I was using flashfxp which wouldn't let me login in using root/xbox. So I used WinSCP3 and logged in as root and it worked fine. Thanks.

You're not meant to be able to login as root for security reasons *rolls eyes*.
