Any chance of 2.6 kernel loopback install?

Post by jaysan » Sat Jun 17, 2006 8:33 am

Is there any chance of a Gentoox Home Edition (loopback install) being made available in the future with a recent 2.6 kernel?

I understand that there is some fatx issue preventing this from occuring as far as I am aware, but a 2.6 kernel loopback install would solve many problems for me!

Can anyone (e.g shallax) provide any light on this..and if so...what time frame? Also, any other suggestions for getting a 2.6 loopback install working would be great, so far I havent had much luck.

As the 2.6(and 2.4 for that matter) fatx kernel driver is not in development and has not been for some time, I do not think there will be any more progress with that driver for the Xbox. Maybe for the 360 and it might be backported somewhat but not anytime soon.
