okay this is where I am at:-
1) I have booted via startdust
2) I break out the script when it is testing the led's
3) I then connected via ssh
4) typed in the below
5) mkdir /mnt/blah
6) mount /dev/hda2 /mnt/blah
7) chroot /mnt/blah /bin/bash
8 ) delete .../etc/conf.d/local.start and move .../etc/conf.d/local.start.holdme to .../etc/conf.d/local.start
9) deleted vmlinuz renamed vmlinuz.old to vmlinuz
9) set my root password back to xbox
10) if I type magic from my ssh window I get:-
Patches available:(Blue indicates installed, Red indicates not installed)
fstab, ip, xbv, xbv2, gpm, raincoat, fatx, xfree, kde, xvkbd, mplayer,
peeper, blink, kernel-2.4.20, alsa, xbvset, scrollwheel, raincoat2,
nvnet, mkfs.fatx, sudo, net.eth0, monitors, eject, kernel-2.4.22, End.
I have marked the ones in red, all the other ones are blue.
So where do I go from here? Can I fix this from my ssh window? if so I will need some guidance.
**Edit**
I can login from an attached keyboard but obviously "magic fix kernel-2.4.22 && magic" does not do anything as I have no network.
If I type this from my shh window (if I boot from stardust & follow the steps listed above) it will install all the stuff in red and it does reapply the kernal patch. But it still gets stuck on the first reboot.
BTW it still does not break out the loop after 10 trys/passes.
Anyone with any ideas on this?
Many thanks

Problem with upgrade to 2.4.22 and Pro
I think I found it
ShALLaX,
I looked in my /etc/modules.autoload file
and the stuff in red below was missing. I typed in the modules.autoload file from a back up, rebooted and my net work came back up.
Question:- Why would your install script remove that and leave the rest?
Cheers
