BTC RF Wireless USB Keyboard 9019URF in Gentoox

Post by LeeDJC »

Hi, this is my first post here. Just installed Gentoox Pro on my Xbox last night, went like a dream. Big thanks to Shallax for all the work that he's obviously put in to this!

Since I'm new to this, I haven't got a USB keyboard/mouse yet. I'm looking to have a wireless onr and came up with the above. More info is available on it here --> http://www.byopvr.com/Sections+index-re ... age-1.html

I like this one because it has the mouse integrated into the keyboard, and as the linux xbox will be in my front room, I want it to be as neat as possible.

Has anyone had any experience with this keyboard? Do you know if it will work? I don't really want to buy it and find that it won't work at all! If not can anyone recommend an integrated keyboard/mouse style system?

Sorry for the very long winded first post! Thanks for the help :)

I'm actually looking at getting the exact same setup. Based on the little bit of research I've done there is a problem with the mouse buttons under kernel versions lower then 2.6.12. Unfortunately I can't find any defenitive answer as to which kernel Gentoox uses. I've found some sites referencing that it uses 2.4, but like I said nothing defenitive. If it is running an older version there appears to be a simple kernel patch that will fix it...

unfortunately I don't know enough about Linux to actually do that. So if anyone else out there can, or knows for sure that Gentoox uses 2.6.12+, I'd love to hear from you.
