"No rule to make target 'default'" Error

Post by erOhead »

Hi Guys,

I just got gentoox 4.0 up on my xbox, and playing around with it, I realized that I've got a webcam wandering around, Micro Innovations IC50C, for which the Internet seems thing has a good linux driver, the SPCA5xx series. It's in portage, at least an older version, so I'd thought i'd try

Code: Select all

emerge media-video/spca5xx

and see what happens.

Errrorr:

Code: Select all

...
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) spca5xx-20050701.tar.gz
 * Determining the location of the kernel source code
 * Found kernel source directory:
 *     /usr/src/linux
 * Found sources for kernel version:

>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking spca5xx-20050701.tar.gz to /var/tmp/portage/spca5xx-20050701/work
>>> Source unpacked.
 * Preparing spca5xx module
make: *** No rule to make target `default'. Stop.

!!! ERROR: media-video/spca5xx-20050701 failed.
!!! Function linux-mod_src_compile, Line 505, Exitcode 2
!!! Unable to make KERNELDIR=/usr/src/linux default.
Any ideas? I hope this is enough info. I haven't messed around too much, but any comments would be helpful.

Thanks.
