Trying to update with magic or emerge for Xserver

...something like invisible-island.com ... for a part of x11 ... link is dead .. but tries 3 or more times, finally to stop with error... all other links, pings, dns ect. works fine , but at this point i cannot get X to work, or a few other things i'd like to emerge/update because of this ... anything you could suggest? thnx
still ... anyone know a workaround? like can i change the list of servers emerge/magic checks for files?
