x2vga+ shuts xbox down with gentoox

hi can any one help
i have modded xbox ftp'ed in gentoox woks fine on my tv but when i set it up to work with my x2vga+ and boot gentoox it just shuts xbox down
and i dont know how to set it back to work with tv with out having to delete it all and putting back a fesh copy.
its not the x2vga+ that works well with games just has problems with linux
it does work with live cd's just not with any thing linux thats on the had drive

found the answedone a search on forums for x2vga and found that it works if you boot gentoox from xbox media center if you change the video settings to auto
